It’s always interesting to see various digital signage companies targeting specific markets with exhibits of their products, and two that we noted currently showing their wares are Visix Inc. at the EDUCAUSE Annual Conference in Orlando, running Sept. 29-Oct. 2, and Trans-Lux Corporation at the WFX National Conference for Church Leaders running Oct. 1-2 in Dallas.

visix_logoThe EDUCAUSE Annual Conference presents a robust, community-generated program that explores today’s toughest IT issues facing higher education. With over 300 sessions and more than 500 speakers (including over 60 webcasts and 18 exclusive online sessions provided virtually), it also includes more than 270 exhibiting companies that provide innovative products and services.

WFX is the largest educational expo in America for churches seeking to maximize their ministry impact through facilities, technology and people, with 223 exhibitors scheduled and 3,500 attendees.

unnamed-1At EDUCAUSE, Visix will present its award-winning array of digital communications products for higher education in booth 1143. With an increased footprint at the show, the company will highlight the single and combined advantages of their products for colleges and universities focusing on communications, outreach and engagement across campuses. On display will be the latest version of AxisTV digital signage software, the company’s new MeetingMinder room sign line, and education-specific creative designs.

“This isn’t about pushing technology – we’re championing better campus communications,” says Sean Matthews, president and CEO of Visix. “Digital signage has grown to be more than just electronic bulletin boards. Students and staff expect to be engaged, to interact with, and participate in, campus communications. We want to provide the tools and expertise to help schools increase their outreach and improve the overall campus experience.”

Visix’s creative services team will present examples of higher education content designs including digital signage layouts with hot spots for launching interactive kiosks, integration of TransLoc real-time shuttle mapping, social media boards with Twitter and Instagram feeds, and menu board designs. It will also feature a variety of interactive wayfinding designs with directory and event mapping, ADA controls, and SMS directions.

At WFX, Trans-Lux will is demonstrating the power of LED displays to further engage congregations. It will especially demonstrate the HD quality of the company’s TL Vision 4mm Black LED display in booth 437. Clearly visible from wide angles and from greater distances, TL Vision 4mm Black displays are modular in design and can be custom configured in almost any shape and size, making them the ideal display technology solution for new and old facilities and architecture. The display is being driven by Trans-Lux’s powerful epic Series LED System Software Suite which is comprised of four modules that can be used stand-alone or as an integrated software solution.

Trans-Lux management is also conducting seminars for show attendees on what to look for when evaluating LED display systems. Craig Katt, Trans-Lux senior vice-president of display technologies, and his team will be hosting two hour-long seminars, one on October 1 at 3:15pm and another on October 2nd at 8:00am, both in room D220 and detailing best practices when evaluating LED display systems.
