Dennis Wells, former COO at Glantz Dynamic Solutions, has been appointed LSI Industries’ COO.
Current CEO Robert Ready has stepped down to take an interim title of executive chairman. Ready will work closely with Wells in the next six months until Wells is appointed the company’s new CEO by the board. Then, Ready will step down from his executive chairman role and remain chairman of the board of the Cincinnati-based manufacturer that combines integrated technology, design and manufacturing to produce efficient, high quality lighting and graphic products in facilities across the US. Ready will also remain a consultant to LSI for the next three years.
“Our entire management team stands ready to work with the new COO and understands that our succession plan has been implemented after careful thought under the direction of our board of directors,” Ready says in a statement. “As I step back, but look forward, I see a loyal, stable, in-place management team being complemented and made stronger by bringing on board Dennis Wells as the COO.”
Prior to Glanz, Wells previously worked for Fulham Inc., Acuity Brands Lighting and Schneider Electric.
LSI Industries president Scott Ready will stay in his current role.
The company’s board members, who led the CEO search, are also looking to recruit a chief technology officer. Once a new technology officer is hired, James Sferra, executive vice president of manufacturing, will become a consultant.
Glantz Dynamic Solutions was closed down in August, 2014, with Almo, a Tier 1 Samsung Distributor, handling sales/service for GDS pending quotes, Demo Programs and service to GDS customers, and Samsung handling the original product warranty purchased through GDS.
