PlayStation Picks The Wow 4 Interactive Spectacular
PlayStation recently turned blowUP media’s ‘The Wow’ giant digital site in Rotterdam into an interactive screen to demonstrate the Remote Play function that allows the PS4 to transmit its video and audio output to its portable PS Vita device instead of a television.
On the square in front of the 170 sqm digital screen, directly opposite Rotterdam’s bustling Central Station, PlayStation created a living room with a sofa, table and lamps, and of course a PS4 and PS Vita. ‘The Wow’ was the ‘TV’ in the living room, enabling consumers to sit down and play Driveclub through the PS Vita device.
PlayStation Brand Manager Yasmina Amarchouh said “The Remote Play function is a superb addition to the PS4 capability and ‘The Wow’ is the perfect site for cutting through media clutter to grab the attention of a mass audience and get them engaged with the new function.”
The event, which was planned and bought by the Omnicom Media Group and coordinated by Linden & Barbosa, ran November 7-8, 2014. PlayStation promotional staff handed out flyers and invited people to come and play on the device from 14.00 to 19.00 on those days. The event attracted hundreds of people keen to try out the remote capability.
