Simulation Displays’ SOLD

Immersive Display Solutions Inc (IDSI) of Georgia (USA) has announced the completion of an agreement to take a controlling interest in Bedford, UK-based simulation and visualization specialists, Simulation Displays Ltd (SD).

In announcing the acquisition, George Forbes, President and CEO of IDSI, stated that the move was strategic and a logical expansion. “The two companies have progressively been working closer together, and there are many synergies to be had from the merger. IDSI has continued to see strong sales growth in Europe, particularly in emerging markets like the nouveau casino en ligne fiable sector, as well as significant key international opportunities that can now best be managed by having an even stronger presence in the European region. In a short period of time, SD has established a strong core team, which makes them well placed to represent the interests of both IDSI and our combined customers. Those that will benefit most from the merger will be the customers themselves. Customer service and satisfaction are at the very core of both teams’ values.”

He continued, “The combination of IDSI’s long track record in design and installation of deployable and high value simulator display solutions, together with Simulation Displays’ track record in high specification fixed and motion base simulator display solutions, creates an immediate win for the combined operations on both sides of the Atlantic.”

Greg Jeffreys, Simulation Displays’ founding CEO, was quoted as saying “George’s participation on the SD board has been a key factor in getting us to where we are today. Both IDSI and SD share the same mission, utilizing similar commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components from best of breed providers. Consequently, we are delighted by this move.” Key processes and personnel will be rapidly absorbed into one another’s solutions, expanding the core competencies and capabilities of our integrated team.”

The announcement was formally made this week in Orlando, Florida, at I/ITSEC 2014, where IDSI are exhibiting and demonstrating several new products and technologies.
