OOH Mag & OOH Weekly Cease Publication
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
We’ve just learned from Emerson Schwartzkopf, the publisher and editor of Out of Home Magazine and Out of Home Weekly, who says, that he will cease publishing new editions, effective immediately.
“While the general economy and the OOH industry continue to be upbeat, our revenue forecast for 2015 didn’t get us within shouting distance of breaking even,” says Schwartzkopf. “Advertising is our sole source of income; we don’t offer industry analysis, produce events, or provide membership services. We can’t keep running at a loss.
“We thank our loyal clients that supported us in the past two years. We also thank you, along with all of our readers, for clicking into our publications to enjoy our mix of news, comments and the occasional oddities of out-of-home.
“We’re not vanishing completely; the back issues of the magazine will remain available through next summer (at the minimum) at outofhomemag.biz, and we’ll also offer archives of the weekly at weekly.outofhomemag.biz.”
Out of Home Magazine promoted itself as ‘THE source for news and information on out-of-home advertising in North America‘.
Its last issue was published in September, 2014, and featured Street Furniture. Sales director was Cindi Erker.
