Laura Davis-Taylor Joins MaxMedia
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
Laura Davis-Taylor has joined MaxMedia, an 18-year-old Atlanta-based consumer engagement agency, as executive vice-president of customer experience.
As MaxMedia continues to focus on creating seamless experiences for clients and users, Davis-Taylor, a seasoned retail professional, will bring a fresh perspective to further enhance the agency’s breadth of capabilities and to shift the paradigm for creating customer experiences.
“I am looking at a ‘David and Goliath’ world in which smaller nimble shops are making bold moves that drive amazing customer experiences, and MaxMedia is one of these agencies – unhindered by the dogma of the past,” says Davis-Taylor. The agency has approximately 45 staffers.
“I’ve been traveling a lot on my previous job and really wanted to settle into a position where I could use me experience while being home more with my family,” she says in explaining her latest move.
Davis-Taylor began her professional career in branding, and she gained a passion for ecommerce and store design early on. She has held positions with WestWayne (now 22squared), Miller Zell, Creative Realities Inc., BBDO, The Integer Group and more, and also founded Retail Media Consulting Inc., which was later bought by a boutique.
“Laura’s extensive retail experience and spirit will undoubtedly contribute to an exciting time of growth and innovation at MaxMedia,” says Keehln Wheeler, founder and CEO of MaxMedia. “We are pleased to welcome a forward-thinking retail expert to our team and are confident Laura will deliver optimal results for MaxMedia and our clients.”
Davis-Taylor will also take the lead on MaxMedia’s strategic branding in 2015 and ongoing, bringing her 25 years of experience, unmatched enthusiasm and ambition to the company.
Davis-Taylor says that her philosophy is that all brands should strive to stimulate and create meaning for consumers throughout the entirety of their experiences. She believes all content is noise unless it incites a meaningful engagement. Her retail expertise makes her book, Lighting up the Aisle: Principles and Practices for In-Store Digital Media, a resource for learning more about in-store digital media.
