Jeff Hastings, CEO of BrightSign, Los Gatos, California, couldn’t be happier with the way the company’s new players, launched in December, are selling.
“We’ve already sold 17,000; they’re selling like hotcakes,” said Hastings as we stopped for a short chat at #dse2015.
BrightSign’s new high end 4K player supports H.265 (compression format) HDMI 2.0 which allows, at the screen, 60 frames per second of 4K. (It’s a one player per screen.)
“It’s the top of the line for video walls,” said Hastings, who told us that the company grew 30% in 2014 over 2013, “and we’ll probably exceed that because the market is good.”
Hastings said that BrightSign’s sales are 50%in the US and Canada, 35% in Europe and 15% elsewhere.
