VIA Technologies Inc., Taipei, Taiwan, and Capital Networks, Markham, Ontario, Canada, have announced the launch of the VIA ALTA Portal digital signage system for small business owners operating stores, restaurants, coffee shops, and other retail locations.

Combining the VIA ALTA DS system with Capital Networks Audience software and a one-year subscription to the Capital Networks cloud-based Portal, the VIA ALTA Portal provides a convenient and cost-effective solution for small businesses to share high-impact multimedia content such as product information, menu items, and special offers with their customers.

System installation is fast and easy, requiring just a power outlet, Internet connection, and external display with Full HD resolutions of up to 1080P. Content creation and management is easy using the Capital Networks Audience software and Portal service. Business owners can access it using their PC or notebook, and instantly publish the latest updates to the VIA ALTA DS signage system over the cloud without the need to upload them manually using a USB stick.

The VIA ALTA DS is a sleek, fanless system measuring just 180mm wide x 120mm high x 25mm deep. Among its key features are:

• Four USB 2.0 ports; one 10/100 Ethernet port;

Capital Networks Audience Portal gives Capital Networks and its partners the ability to create and maintain a network of end-user accounts with this cloud based solution. The portal also acts as a content submission and management tool for approved end-users, allowing them to update any number of digital signage displays, including advanced scheduling options, through the use of simple online ‘fill in the blank’ forms.
