The Out-of-Home/Digital Out-of-Home industry launched a digital roadblock on Earth Day (April 22, 2015) to help support the nation’s parks and historic sites.
Our readers will remember that the out-of-home advertising industry has partnered with the National Park Foundation, the official charity of America’s national parks, to help launch a nationwide public service campaign celebrating the centennial anniversary of the National Park Service in 2016.
Various iconic images from the parks were featured nationwide throughout Earth Day on donated space on digital billboards, bus shelters, and other OOH formats. These are a selection from the many different pro bono ads that went up on various media.
The year-plus centennial campaign launched in New York on April 2, starting with a multi-media pitch to young people called ‘Find Your Park’. The launch included a digital take-over in Times Square and mobile billboards featuring the campaign creative.
Mobile billboards also supported Find Your Park events in Los Angeles and Washington, DC.

Gail, Can the various media owners write the space donated off as a tax deduction?
