Q1 2015: Canadian OOH Revenue Continues To Grow
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
Out-of-Home advertising revenue in Canada rose 9.2% in the first quarter of 2015 compared to the previous year, as reported by Nielsen.
“There has been growth across a number of categories including tourism, retail, finance and telecommunications,” says Rosanne Caron, president, Out-of-Home Marketing Association of Canada.
OMAC members have seen increases in OOH advertising revenues across all product lines and in particular digital platforms. OOH’s growth is second only to online and is expected to continue given the medium’s ability to garner high attention levels combined with new opportunities to engage and interact with consumers.
OMAC members include Astral Out-of-Home, Clear Channel Outdoor, Cogeco Metromedia, Lamar Transit Advertising, OUTFRONT Media, Pattison Outdoor, Quebecor Media Out-of-Home and Zoom Media. OMAC members support the communities they do business in by donating more than $24 million annually in advertising space for charities and non-profit organizations.
