Roadchef, one of the UK’s largest Motorway Service operators, is installing a network of 30 digital media screens across their 30 UK sites, with the first screens going live this month.

Roadchef has signed a five year deal with EGB Digital Media to roll out the network.

Peter Barrett MD at EGB Digital Media told us “We are delighted that we have been awarded this contract and look forward to developing the network’s potential over the next five years. It is a great opportunity for any companies looking to advertise their brand to the mass market as visitors numbers are in the region of 1 million per week”

Mike Heaton, Commercial Director at Roadchef commented on the deal by saying “This network has been developed to allow Roadchef to market and promote its brands within the service areas using the latest digital screen technology. Content on screen can be updated remotely via a 3G connection which allows it to react instantly to the demands and challenges of our businesses on a daily basis.”

Roadchef operates from 30 UK locations from Scotland through England and Wales down to the south coast and attract more than 46 million visitors per year. As part of the project, we are told that companies will have the opportunity to advertise their business across the screen network with local, regional and national packages available.

All screens are located in the high footfall areas of the sites. The screens run on a loop of approximately ten minutes, using a mixture of in-house promotion, general information and advertising messages, thus ensuring regular exposure of our customer’s messages. Adverts can be either static images, moving animations or video footage. Each playing for a duration of between 10 and 20 seconds.
