Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief
Infocomm have lost what little credibility they had with regard digital signage here at DailyDOOH Towers, and no doubt, with anyone else in the digital signage and digital out of home industry who saw the news this week that “dynamic media industry1 veteran Lyle Bunn” is keynoting the next InfoComm International® roundtable discussion about digital signage in London and in Dublin.
Join InfoComm International® for a roundtable discussion about digital signage — with two locations to choose from: London or Dublin. Roundtables are a networking and business education opportunity free to InfoComm members. Make face-to-face connections with industry colleagues in your city, get management advice tailored to AV businesses, and share your insights and opinions during the open roundtable discussion — the floor is yours!
The event will kick off with a keynote presentation by dynamic media industry veteran Lyle Bunn. This information-rich session will describe key elements of digital signage and how you can benefit as demand for it continues to grow. A “snapshot” of the status of the sector and trends will be described, along with how the medium relates to other enterprise applications and infrastructure. A typical project process will be outlined.
The London Roundtable takes place October 20, 2015 and more information can be found here.
However potential attendees needn’t waste their time, any takers / listeners will get rhetoric, academese and flashes of cliche from someone who has never worked in the industry – it would be like me giving a presentation to doctors and nurses about healthcare cos’ I was in hospital with a bad leg once.
Infocomm are wasting someone’s money flying Bunn in and in general doing a big disservice to our industry by giving the stage to such as he.
1 That’s right, he cannot even bring himself to use the correct terminology ‘digital signage’

You forgot the PhD. at the end of his handle.

Infocomm was soliciting anyone for speakers this summer. Don’t ever be surprised about trade show presenters when there is no shortage of free plane tickets and hotel rooms offered.
That must be the Canadian version of how they say digital signage veteran.
No kerfufful, yawn, and back to sleep now.

Having just come across this October 2015 posting, perhaps those who also come across it would be intersted in the delegate scoring and comments on the presentations. I am sorry that Adrian did not attend any of the Amsterdam, London, Dublin Infocomm roundtable presentations in Oct. 2015, but perhaps we will connect during Digital Signage Week, Oct. 24th week, 2016 in New York.
