The Digital Signage Federation, the independent not-for-profit trade organization serving the digital signage industry, is inviting DSF members and non-members alike, to attend its Wednesday, November 10, ‘Hangout’ panel discussion at 2pm EST, on the topic of ‘Implementing Room Scheduling Signage’.
Hotels, conference centers, corporate communications meeting rooms, and Higher Education are just a few of the sectors that use meeting room signage and stand to benefit by installing digital signage that can be remotely programmed to automatically reflect meetings in progress and notify a room’s scheduling availability.
Hangouts are 45-minute panel discussions using Google’s Hangout platform with a moderator and a panel of three or four industry professionals. The Nov. 10 panel of Digital Signage professionals will include:
- Adam Feldman, Executive Director Guest Technology, MGM Resorts;
- Susan Heller, Communications Strategist to the Office of the CIO, Allergan;
- Aaron Bach, Senior Manager of Application Development, Four Winds Interactive.
In addition to discussing the most effective way to interact with such a system to book a meeting room, whether via touch screen, smartphone or browser, the Nov. 10 panel will discuss:
- The best type of hardware and screen size for this application;
- Whether to enable open use access or controlled access;
- What the back end should look like – perhaps a simple MS Exchange or a Google;
- What the screen should display if there is no event scheduled. (i.e., information or marketing promotions);
- How should way-finding solutions interact with the room scheduling?
More information on the Nov. 10 Hangout event or other DSF events can be found on the DSF website. Both DSF members and non-members may join these, or any of the DSF’s scheduled Hangout conversations for free – but registration is required and can be accessed on the DSF Event Web Page here.
