An hour-long session titled ’Fundamentals of Digital Signage Content’ will be part of a four-part Digital Signage Fundamentals Seminar Program designed specifically for End Users, AV Professionals, Systems Integrators or anyone considering creating a digital communications network, taking place at #dse2016.
Steve Hargis, director of film and video production for Bass Pro Shops, will present an immersive session designed to help guide attendees through the creation of a content strategy, including the importance of planning and budgeting for content, the basic questions that need answers before system deployment, and how to source content to keep it fresh and relevant when the system is operational. Hargis will also discuss basics of content rules and design, and share plenty of good and bad content examples.
DSE Advisory Board member Michael Collins, IT Project Lead at Aramark, says that resource and budget constraints can significantly impact content strategy, which is why it is important to have an efficient, user-friendly and flexible content management system to support your strategy.
“There are several ways to handle content creation, but it does take some upfront work to determine the best source or sources for each particular solution,” says Len Dudis, corporate vice-president of IT, Seaworld Parks & Entertainment, also a DSE Advisory Board member.
This goes even for menu boards. Jesse Briedenger, senior shopper marketing manager, The Coca Cola Company, and DSE Advisory Board member says, “Building a solid content strategy is probably the most important part of a menu board implementation.”
Registration for ‘Fundamentals of Digital Signage Content’ or any of the DSE 2016 educational conference seminars, which are sponsored by Broadsign International and are eligible for Digital Signage Expert Group (DSEG) certification renewal credits, is available online here.
#dse2016 is scheduled for March 15-18, 2016, with access to the Exhibit Hall March 16 and 17 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas.
