TouchTunes, the largest in-venue interactive music and entertainment platform in 71,000 social venues globally which named Ross Honey as its new president and COO this month, tells us that the position “has been open for some time”.
There was no statement as to how long Jim Wilson, former COO, has been gone.
Based in New York, Honey will assume responsibility for sales, marketing, engineering, product management, music, the company’s Attract Media advertising group, and other core operating functions, reporting directly to Charles Goldstuck, chairman and CEO. We understand that Goldstuck has held that position for several years now.
As mentioned in our article last week, Honey joins TouchTunes from Microsoft where he has spent the last 10 years in an array of leadership roles in content, product management, and advertising, including serving as general manager of Xbox Advertising and Entertainment.
“Ross has an extensive background in digital media and entertainment that is a perfect fit for TouchTunes,” says Goldstuck. “His vast experience will help us to continue executing on our strategy of innovation and market expansion, supporting our positon as a market leader and an engine for industry growth.”
Honey says that he’s looking forward to using his experience in growing digital businesses to pursue the opportunity.
Prior to Microsoft, Honey was the vice-president, strategy and business development at Scholastic Media, the TV, film and software division of Scholastic Inc. He earlier had been a management consultant in the media and entertainment practice of Booz-Allen & Hamilton.
