We had a short talk with Ricardo Belmar, director of vertical market solutions, N.A. division, at Hughes, or what seems to be now called HughesON.

Ricardo Belmar“We are concentrating on interactivity with a customer engage suite of solutions and an employee engage suite of solutions,” said Belmar.

“We are putting a lot of attention on training, with new employee training products, with a virtual classroom so students can participate on screen or on mobile devices. It can be on demand from the cloud and can also be pushed from the cloud to a local storage service so that students can participate at their own time. It’s great for training students.”

On the customer engagement side, Hughes has been concentrating on Breakroom TV where live TV feed is combined with corporate employee messages. And not stopping there, it has a customer focused version for both TVs and digital displays under the names Dining TV for restaurants, and Waiting Room TV with health information for medical offices, pharmacies and multi-tenant locations.
