#NYDSW Coming Together Nicely

Russ Curry, Ministry of New Media

This week we’ve already had big news on two of the major events taking place during New York Digital Signage Week (October 24-28, 2016), namely DPAA’s Video Everywhere Summit and SEGD’s Xlab and later this week we are (still) expecting more details on the Digital Signage Federation’s (DSF) plan for their, now regular, Coffee and Controversy event.

With the support of all the major North American industry associations; DPAA, DSF, OAAA and the SEGD and events put on by all the major display manufacturers; BARCO, Daktronics, NEC Display Solutions, Planar / Leyard and Samsung the week is continuing to take shape AND get better each year.

Since its inception, the week has spawned a whole bunch of innovative events – we’ve worked hard with organisers to make sure that there is much more to the week than man/woman-stands-up-and-speaks-in-front-of-slides sort of thing.

Coffee and Controversy is a truly great format and we’re pleased to say that another interesting approach to imparting news, information and allowing debate – namely ‘Live From Times Square‘ will be back again for the second year, with the support of the folks at AVNation and Daktronics.

Thursday night is party night – as it should be, Ed and we’ll have more details on the Show+Tell Rocktober Mixer soon which takes place at Samsung837.

We’re also currently working on two other projects; a Manhattan Tech Talk TV programme and some form of daily PodCast.

If you’re interested in putting on an event- however big or small during the week, then please feel free to drop me a line russcurry@gmail.com
