Ocean Group has launched a new free, super-fast wifi service across 13 digital out of home screens in Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool and London.
The combined network is currently accessed by more than 30,000 people a day, with more screen-enabled WiFi zones to be introduced shortly in other cities like Newcastle.
We are told that more than 9,000 people have already logged onto the new service, called SimplyFi in Liverpool, giving them unlimited data usage, download speeds of more than 100mb and inbuilt virus protection.
Liverpool’s first free WiFi screen-enabled location is located in Cavern Quarter, opposite Liverpool One.
Announcing the service, Head of SimplyFi Catherine Morgan, told us “Demand for SimplyFi has been overwhelming. More than 82% of users tell us that they have logged on to save on data charges with plenty of them logging on recently to play PokémonGO, and 18% using SimplyFi’s free WiFi because it’s faster than their mobile data.”
SimplyFi is also available in London where it has been installed as part of digital screens in Canary Wharf and Westfield London.
