Cirque du Soleil Coming To a Greater Toronto Mall

The Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group tells us that it plans to open its first family entertainment centre inside a mall in the greater Toronto area this September, 2019.

In a partnership deal with real estate firm Ivanhoé Cambridge, each centre will be approximately 2,200 square metres (24,000 square feet) and offer acrobatic and other recreational activities, such as bungee jumping, aerial parkour, wire and trampolines and juggling.

It is hoped that Cirque du Soleil’s so-called Creactive centres will help the company diversify and fill empty storefronts.

Marie-Josee Lamy, Cirque du Soleil’s Creactive producer was quoted as saying “Our fans regularly express their wish to experience Cirque du Soleil from an insider’s perspective. We make that possible by inviting families to jump on stage, offering them another way to explore our creativity beyond our live shows.”

We understand that discussions are ongoing for additional locations in Canada and it’s also talking with other potential partners for sites outside Canada.
