Announced this week was what we told you would happen last week – namely the formation of the Digital Signage Organisation (DSO), a new association aimed at supporting the European Digital Signage industry and effectively killing off and replacing Digital Signage Federation Europe.
Almost three years ago, (February 2016) saw the Digital Signage Federation announce that it had finalised a working relationship with the organisation formerly known as OVAB Europe, which became Digital Signage Federation Europe at the time of the announcement and supposedly became an independent affiliate of the DSF proper.
DSO’s President is Simon Jackson, Vice President, Strategic & Vertical Sales EMEA, NEC Display Solutions (previously of course) President of Digital Signage Federation Europe.
Joining him on the board are two previous board members of Digital Signage Federation Europe, Leif Liljebrunn (President and CEO of ZetaDisplay AB.) who joins as Vice President and Dirk Huelsermann (Managing Partner of STRATACACHE Capital) who takes the role of Chairman. In addition two new Vice Presidents have joined in Harry Horn (GM EMEA & VP Marketing Global of Scala Inc.) and Owen Ellis (Chairman, AV User Group).
Simon Jackson, President of DSO told us “With our new organisation we have the ability to better serve the needs of the European Digital Signage community. We have a strong board with representation across vendors, integration and end users as we intend to cover all areas of the industry. I’m excited to announce the start of a new journey for DSO and share our plans and visions at our ISE meeting. It will take some time to develop and realise all the ideas we have and our members have a great chance to be part of that journey in helping shape our future for years to come”.
The next DSO meeting will take place during #ISE2019 at 4.00pm on Thursday February 7, 2019 in Room F002 and is open to all. At this meeting potential new members will be able to hear in more detail the plans for the future of DSO including membership benefits and events planned.
The Digital Signage Organisation aims to provide its members with a strong voice in the digital signage industry both through learning and sharing best practices as well as identifying and demonstrating what signage means to different industries and applications. One size never fits all and providing thought leadership and informed opinion on the myriad of solutions, methods and opportunities will help the industry grow together and provide a clear message to those outside it.
We understand that the DSO plans to make additional board member announcements at #ISE2019.
