The Digital Signage Federation brings ‘Privacy and Proof’ to the podium as this year’s Coffee & Controversy topic during New York Digital Signage Week. It’s being held at the Microsoft Training Facility at 11 Times Square ob Tuesday October 15, 2019.
Privacy & Proof: The Great Debate is a must-attend for all industry stakeholders.
Moderated by 16:9 blogger and industry practitioner Dave Haynes, the Federation will explore the interdependencies and potential privacy implications at play regarding measurement and monetization strategies within DOOH and various verticals.
Spencer Graham, DSF’s current Chairman of the Board told us “We’re at a critical juncture with digital signage and DOOH, as emerging tools and techniques have given us great power regarding how we measure and monetize the medium. We all know that proving traffic, exposure, engagement and resulting ROI increases the value of digital signage…and it also increases advertiser interest and participation. However, as we move towards better tracking and targeting, the murky privacy laws and implications are imperative to explore and responsibly navigate.”
The DSF, committed as it is, to helping member and industry constituents stay ahead of key strategic topics, this topic was unanimously agreed upon by the larger Federation Board as the most important one to dive into in a public forum. To do this properly, top voices representing the various point of views around the discussion, will be serving on the panel: –
- Dylan Gilbert, Policy Fellow, Public Knowledge
- Amy Avery, Chief Intelligence Officer, Droga5
- Laura Davis-Taylor, Co-Founder HighStreet Collective & LivingRetailLab
- Kym Frank, President, Geopath
- Jeremy Bergstein, CEO, The Science Project
Dave Haynes was clear on his intention with the conversation he’ll lead with the esteemed group and was quoted as saying “Privacy is a hot topic, and the rules around it within DOOH are being established and altered concurrently–and they vary significantly by state and country. Regardless, providing proof to our DOOH and digital signage efforts is imperative. I aim to explore how privacy and proof don’t have to be mutually exclusive, and how we can all work together responsibly to ensure that this never changes.”
The event will take place from 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM with breakfast and registration starting at 8:00 AM and the panel discussion starting at 9:00 AM.
