Show+Tell announced this week that it has been awarded a multi-year contract by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to extend and operate the digital Passenger Information System Program (PISP) to the Port Authority Bus Terminal at 42nd Street in New York City.
Phil Lenger, Show+Tell’s President, told us “the PISP is a great solution for both the Port Authority and its customers. It helps the Port Authority and its carriers reduce the visual chaos inherent to having multiple signs at shared gates, and provides transit information in a simple, easy to understand way for passengers at a critical touchpoint along their journey. We’re thrilled to extend our five year working relationship with the Port Authority on this project.”
Show+Tell previously contracted with the Port Authority to develop and operate the Passenger Information System for the George Washington Bridge Bus Terminal (GWBBS) in 2017.
This project is part of a comprehensive unified program at the Port Authority to streamline and consolidate digital signage at gates shared by more than one Bus Carrier. The system will display bus schedules for multiple carriers across a network of 60+ interior and exterior digital video displays at PABT and GWBBT.
Additionally Show+Tell will work with the Port Authority and the partner Bus Carriers that service these stations to develop the next generation of passenger displays – a unified transit data collection and publishing system that will feed data to public kiosks, digital signage and mobile apps.
The Port Authority Bus Terminal (PABT) is the largest terminal in the United States and the busiest in the world by volume of traffic serving over 260,000 people weekly.
Show+Tell will design, install and maintain the PISP system at PABT. The new system will go live at the PABT in 2020.
