Attitudes To Privacy @the_ARF Virtual Town Hall
Today, Thursday June 25 between 13:00 PM – 13:45 PM EDT the ARF are holding a Virtual Town Hall which will discuss the privacy survey conducted by the ARF this past April; with questions about #COVID19, its impact on people’s feelings about privacy, geo-location and trust and some recent work by W2O related to privacy and COVID contact tracing apps.
The enactment of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) in 2018 and the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) in 2020 heralded a new era for consumer privacy. Now, four months into the global pandemic, big tech firms are building COVID contact tracing apps. Are consumer attitudes towards privacy changing? Do these attitudes differ by generation? Will enforcement of privacy laws begin to wane?
Since 1936, the Advertising Research Foundation (ARF) has been the standard-bearer for unbiased quality in research on advertising, media and marketing.
