The big trade show events due to take place in the first half of 2021 are falling like dominoes (for a complete list of postponed events click here) and the latest was from GSMA, the organisers of #MWC2021 who announced yesterday a ‘small’ postponement.
It is such a short postponement that they have hardly bought themselves any extra time at all, their in-person MWC Barcelona event will move from March 1-4, 2021 to June 28 to July 1, 2021. I
It’s probably just me but for the sake of an extra few months, it hardly seems worthwhile.
The problem that all of these trade shows face, which is why I bet, GSMA does not want to move the event to the second half of 2021 is that if you move your early-in-the-year event too far forward, for example to the latter part of the year, you then start to get awfully close to the event the following year.
#ISE2021 has the same problem with only eight months now between next year’s (postponed) event in June to its next #ISE2022 in 2022.
Exhibitors and attendees can rightly feel aggrieved at this sort of scheduling.
