Rather than cancelling the November 20 #AVAwards, the organisers AV Magazine have decided to pivot the event and for it to become a virtual ‘celebration’ (their words not ours).
Surely, the whole purpose of any awards ceremony is to dress up, network, drink a little too much, flirt a little and wildly celebrate if and when you win, or drink some more if you end up losing.
I guess AV Magazine though, threw all of that reasoning out of the window when they figured out a way to keep hold of the sponsors’ money.
Personally I think that after such a long period of lockdown, people have had enough of virtual events. This particular pivot is one of the worst ideas ever.
