Sharp/NEC announced this morning that they would not be exhibiting at #ISE2021 this year.
Bernd Eberhardt, President & CEO, Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe issued a statement that said “For years, Integrated Systems Europe has been an annual highlight for our staff here at Sharp NEC Display Solutions Europe, in addition to being the most important global AV event of the year. We relish the opportunity to gather our display specialists from across the world and meet face-to-face with existing and prospective end-user customers, integrators and channel partners, as well as industry experts. Like many live-event organisations, ISE faces the challenge this year of planning a complex mechanism in the face of an uncertain COVID-19 timeline. The ISE organisation has decided to proceed with their Barcelona debut in early June 2021.
We had a short time to decide about our attendance and after much discussion and global dialogues, we at Sharp/NEC have come to the conclusion that we cannot join ISE this year. We share the hope that travel will be safe and responsible by early June, but current travel restrictions and personnel safety concerns make us unable to immediately guarantee our place in Barcelona.
We will be rolling out announcements in the next few weeks of ways to experience the Sharp/NEC difference, including any virtual or local events that seem appropriate to challenging times like these. In addition, ISE is exploring regional opportunities for the local European main markets and Sharp/NEC will review these options along with the digital programme ISE has offered.
The ISE team has built a great success story. The event has increased in size and quality each and every year, for which the team deserves enormous credit. Sharp/NEC has always appreciated the hard work and determination of Mike Blackman and his excellent team. ISE is the place to be for the AV industry and it’s THE opportunity to keep up-to-date with the latest innovations and developments.
For now, we look forward to seeing everyone at ISE in 2022. We know that Sharp/NEC will be there.”
