Integrated Systems Events and its co-owners AVIXA and CEDIA will be adding Reykjavík to their series of local events already scheduled for Barcelona, Munich, Amsterdam and London.
Not only will ISE Live & Online now reach the sparsely populated Nordic island country of Iceland but by leveraging the marketing and social media expertise at AVIXA, plans we understand are in place to make a major announcement by the end of this week, that the ISE trade show proper will return under the guise of #ICE2021.
As always LANG AG. will be the first exhibitor to lend its support to the new trade show. A spokesperson for LANG AG. told us “Jetzt ist die Zeit gekommen, die Kuh vom Eis zu holen”. Exhibition booths start at 1.4M ISK.
In terms of attendance #ICE2021 is also guaranteed to be the largest in Integrated Systems Europe’s history and will be the first to break ISE Managing Director Mike Blackman‘s long held desire to have an event with more than 100,000 attendees. The previous record was #ISE2019 which saw 81,268 people attend.
In a deal negotiated with Dagur Bergþóruson Eggertsson, the Mayor of Reykjavik City and Iceland’s Head of State Katrín Jakobsdóttir, funded by the European Union’s European Economic Area (EEA) and supported by the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), all 131,136 residents of the City will be encouraged to attend and given free exhibition passes to the show.
Of course an ISE event would not be a proper ISE event without at least half a dozen presentations from Invidis Consulting GmbH’s Unternehmensinhaber Florian Rotberg and his case study on ‘Employee Communications and Digital Signage in the Aluminium Smelting and Fishing Industries’ is likely to be just one reason why so many Íslendingar will be wanting to attend.
Iceland has faired well with fighting the #COVID19 Pandemic and is generally considered a very safe place to visit. The UK currently has no restrictions on travel within Iceland. Travel restrictions do apply to all third-country nationals, i.e. persons who are neither citizens of EEA/EFTA nations, nor nationals of Andorra, Monaco, San Marino, or the Vatican—regardless of whether they require a visa or are permitted travel within the Schengen area without a visa.
Interestingly, this will be the largest event held at the Reykjavík city, Harpa Concert Hall & Conference Centre since the IYYF World Yo-Yo Championship held back in 2017.
