JCDecaux Australia today announced conservation organisation, Bush Heritage Australia, as its major charity partner for 2021.
The partnership is part of a series of ‘social impact’ initiatives the business is launching this year, under the banner of JCDecauxHEART.
JCDecauxHEART focuses on three areas of social impact: health and mental health, environmental sustainability, and enriching urban communities. JCDecaux’s new partnership with Bush Heritage focuses on reducing environmental impact.
Bush Heritage Australia is a national not-for-profit conservation organisation that buys and manages land, and partners with Aboriginal people to protect our unique landscapes and precious native species. With 30 years’ experience in returning the bush to good health, Bush Heritage has built a reputation for protecting Australia’s irreplaceable wildlife through science-based actions and strategy.
JCDecaux Chief Executive Officer, Steve O’Connor, told us “Through JCDecauxHEART, we aim to partner with organisations that create real and lasting social impact, helping them win the hearts and minds of people in the community. Our partnership with Bush Heritage Australia aligns perfectly with that vision and allows JCDecaux to expand upon on our existing environmental practices to provide real impact beyond the cities as we contribute to protecting some of the most remote areas of Australia and the species that call them home. It’s a partnership that also provides tangible support to Aboriginal communities, delivering conservation, socio-economic and cultural outcomes and we’re really proud to announce it today.”
Bush Heritage Chief Executive Officer, Heather Campbell, said: “Solving the serious environmental challenges of our time requires big ideas and big investment – this partnership shows JCDecaux’s strong leadership and their deep commitment to making a difference. Their support gives us a fantastic opportunity to increase awareness of our work to new audiences and will help us undertake large-scale conservation projects around Australia.”
The partnership will give Bush Heritage Australia access to space on several key JCDecaux Street Furniture and Large Format sites, while also providing JCDecaux staff engagement opportunities that include meeting leading conservationists.
