The 2021 NAB Show which, earlier this year, was scheduled for April 11–14, 2021 and that will now (hopefully still) take place October 9–13, 2021, in Las Vegas has lost some high profile exhibitors this past week.
Out so far are Sony, Panasonic, Canon, Rohde & Schwarz and Ross Video.
The statement from Ross Video said “Ross Video is today announcing the company’s withdrawal from NAB Show 2021 in Las Vegas, scheduled to take place next month. As time has passed since the revised dates for 2021 were announced, it has become increasingly apparent that the challenges posed by the fluctuating public health situation in Nevada (and elsewhere around the world), travel restrictions into the USA, logistics and general uncertainty among exhibitors and potential attendees are, regrettably, too great to enable Ross to participate”.
The Hollywood reporter is saying that Blackmagic Design, Avid and Adobe are also out.
There are currently around 600 exhibitors registered for #NABShow, there was no show in 2020 but in 2019 it advertised that 1,600 had exhibited
Note that the other big event to be held in October in North America, #InfoComm21 currently also has less than 417 exhibitors registered, that is HALF the number that exhibited in 2019, there also was no show in 2020.
