#Infocomm21 @LegrandAV The Latest To Pull Out

Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief

It’s been something of a Black Thursday for those nice people at AVIXA with LegrandAV announcing that they would not be exhibiting at #Infocomm21.

In a message from their President Steve Durkee, he said their decision was down to the uncertainty of #COVID19 and the delta variant…

InfoComm has been and will continue to be one of the most exciting events in our industry. We always look forward to the show as an opportunity to launch new products, tools, training and, of course, connect with our partners. However, unfortunately we are all still navigating the uncertainty and evolution of COVID-19. Although it appeared to be subsiding this summer, the surge of the Delta variant has further complicated the return to a new normal. As a result, and after much consideration and deliberation, we have decided that Legrand | AV will not be attending the 2021 show. We certainly look forward to reconnecting in person soon and continue to plan our participation in future events.

In addition, our innovative products, services and new tools are still coming. We’ll be proactively communicating all these new solutions to you shortly. And while nothing could replace InfoComm, we’re exploring other ways to partner, sponsor and continue to support AVIXA and the integration community. Stay tuned for updates on the latest events, tools and opportunities to connect with us.

Since we will not be able to do so in person at the show this year, I want to take this opportunity to say thank you for your continued support and partnership as we navigate this journey together.

Sincerely,

Steve Durkee

President – Legrand | AV

Earlier Logitech sent emails to its dealers telling them that they would not be exhibiting and it also became common knowledge that Poly (NYSE: POLY) would also not be present.

Add in Crestron this week announcing a significant scaling back of their presence at the show and news that Sharp/NEC would be using meeting rooms on the show floor rather than building a booth and it has not been a good week at all for the show, still with a 99.999% probability of taking place according to AVIXA CEO David Labuskes.
