October 2021 will likely go down in the annals of history when the DPAA chose to go all out, opting NOT to do an (easier) online-only version of their Video Everywhere Summit but instead, with the full support of their members, and the wider OOH and advertising industry they took the risk and decided to do it all in-person.
Whilst initial expectations were no doubt, for a smaller gathering of important brand, agency, OOH and DOOH executives we now understand that this has recently turned into a much higher attendance and attention level than originally anticipated.
Other events in and around New York Digital Signage Week seem to support this; AdTECH: OOH – Toronto (the week before NYDSW) was sold out and could easily have attracted 130 – 150 people and AdTECH: OOH – New York is also filling up fast.
New York City is really getting back into the swing of things, it has a high vaccination rate and has seen Fashion Week, the MTV Video Music Awards, US Open Tennis and the Tonys all go off without a hitch. There has even been a number of debut shows as Broadway reopens.
Interestingly what has turned out to be the hot ticket in town this year is the DPAA VIP Speaker and Leadership Invite only Dinner on Monday October 11. In addition to brand, agency and industry’s leading lights, this year again features a very special ‘fireside chat’ with a notable, philanthropic ex-advertising exec and newsmaker who has been making many headlines lately due to his recent very unique and celebrated voyage.
