Boomerang Media recently partnered with Young People’s Trust for the Environment (YPTE) to help raise awareness of #COP26 and inspire young people to help make a change, with the launch of Boomerang’s ‘Design a Climate Action Poster’ competition.
School students between the ages of 8-18 years were tasked with designing a poster to persuade and inspire the public to become more environmentally aware about climate change and lead environmentally friendly designs.
Garfield Smith, CEO of Boomerang Media Group, said “We have been overwhelmed by the passion and creativity exhibited by the hundreds of school children entering this competition. The variety of designs and artistic approaches were inspiring and the message from young people is clear!”
Winning designs were selected from three age categories, with winning entries, shown above, from:
- Beau Bennett – Goldstone Primary School in Hove (Winner – 8-10 years category)
- Aidan Hart – St Michael’s CE High School in Chorley (Winner – 11-14 years category)
- Isabella Lee – The Ladies’ College in Guernsey (Winner – 15-18 years category)
The competition was promoted to over 1,500 primary and secondary schools across the UK through sister company, Boomerang Education, and received close to 350 entries.
The winning poster designs are currently being displayed on over 1,500 D6 screens around the UK with kind permissions of leisure venue landlords, including PureGym, Nuffield Health gyms, Vue Entertainment cinemas and Places Leisure centres, as well as shopping malls.
Winners will receive digital design tablets, with runner up prizes of STABILOGreen pen sets kindly donated by STABILO.
