Following Thursday’s news that Lenovo, Waymo and Intel have withdrawn from the in-person aspect of #CES2022, comes news that General Motors Co (GM.N) have also pulled out.
GM has announced that it will not send employees or top executives to #CES2022 next month due to their growing concerns about the Omicron variant of the coronavirus.
The U.S. automaker’s chief executive, Mary Barra, had been scheduled to give a keynote speech at the annual conference and the the company would have publicly unveiled its electric Silverado pickup truck for the first time.
A spokesman for the company said that Mary Barra will still make the speech and presentation over the internet.
