DOOHJobs

We mentioned DOOHJobs briefly in our post yesterday ‘DOOH, Dooh, dooh…‘ and now we see an official press release.
Described as “The first and only international job board dedicated to the Digital- Out of Home and Signage industry” – it’s not hard to see why that is the case – DOOH is still such a small marketplace.
It’s difficult to see how the business will work, at the moment the site is free although founder Anna Able told us “we are planning to release a more comprehensive service towards the end of the year which will feature greater search and posting functionality”, hinting at least at a payment mechanism and a means to generate revenue.
There are plenty of online recruitment sites (and places like LinkedIn as well of course). It’s an eyeballs-game as long as you have 1000’s jobs to offer and a classic catch-22 – people won’t give you jobs (or register themselves) if you don’t have eyeballs and people won’t come to the site unless there are jobs to view.
These guys are going to have to do a hell of a lot of marketing to have any chance of success though to be fair their first effort is not bad – to celebrate the launch of the service, the first fifty posters will be entered into a prize draw to win USD 150 of flight vouchers. The winner will be able to choose from a number of international airlines.
