Leading digital outdoor media company QMS has joined forces with The Royal Children’s Hospital’s Good Friday Appeal in Melbourne, Australia to support their 2023 fundraising campaign.
The Good Friday Appeal is a beloved annual fundraiser which has helped to enable The Royal Children’s Hospital to provide ground-breaking research, state-of-the-art equipment and technology, family-centred care programs and attracting and retaining the brightest minds through education and leadership.
QMS Chief Operating Officer – Customer, Sara Lappage told us “We are honoured to be involved with this wonderful cause, which highlights the generous spirit of Australians every year. Easter marks a time when all Victorians come together to support our world class Royal Children’s Hospital, the sick children and their families that find themselves there, and the incredible medical and support staff who care for them. By donating advertising space and encouraging all Victorians, our partners and our staff to get involved, we hope to help create increased awareness and raise as much money – and hope – as possible for the children and families who need it most.”
The Good Friday Appeal brings all sectors of the community together to raise money every year, culminating in a telethon broadcast by Channel 7 on Good Friday. Since its inception in 1931, the Good Friday Appeal has raised over $421 million, including a record-breaking $22 million last year.
Good Friday Appeal Executive Director, Rebecca Cowan, said “We are grateful to QMS for the generous donation of out of home space to help us spread the word about this year’s Good Friday Appeal. The digital signs you will see across the state will allow Victorians to spot our Faces of the Appeal, Arlo and Aru, and build awareness of the importance of donating to The Royal Children’s Hospital. Every dollar raised from this year’s Good Friday Appeal is an investment towards The Royal Children’s Hospital’s innovative and life-changing projects, building on existing programs to improve children’s care and lessen the burden of chronic illness over the years to come.”
Marking the first time the Good Friday Appeal has used out of home to raise awareness of key fundraising initiatives and encourage donations, the partnership with QMS will see media support extend across its network of digital large format sites as well as digital screens at 7-Eleven convenience stores around Victoria.
