Intersection has announced a five-year extension of their exclusive advertising partnership with Charlotte Douglas International Airport. Reaching nearly 48 million airline passengers annually, Intersection’s partnership with CLT engages travelers from all over the world along their travel journeys. CLT is also investing billions of dollars over the next decade to expand and enhance capacity. As the seventh busiest airport in the world (in terms of air traffic), its continued and sustained growth will only increase the opportunity for advertisers.
Intersection first partnered with CLT back in 2013, winning a competitive contract for the exclusive rights to sell advertising across the airport’s static and digital assets, including banners, wraps, spectaculars, dominations, wall dioramas, floor exhibits, and digital signage at baggage claim, and throughout the airport. As part of the new five-year agreement, which now extends through June 2028, Intersection will also make a substantial investment to upgrade CLT’s existing media. Media deployments will include a new static display network throughout the airport, large format static banners, and additional digital screens in both the concourse and baggage claim. Intersection will also deploy new digital wayfinding units throughout the airport, to enhance customer experience at CLT.
“We are thrilled to once again continue and expand our partnership with CLT. ” said Scott Goldsmith, President & COO at Intersection. “Our media touchpoints allow advertisers to connect with engaged travel audiences from all over the world at one of the nation’s premiere airports.”
“We look forward to the airport’s continued partnership with Intersection,” said CLT’s Chief Business & Innovation Officer Ted Kaplan. “The investment in the latest media technology by Intersection will help amplify the innovative upgrades we’ve introduced to passengers in CLT’s everchanging terminal building.”
Intersection’s media network also extends across the top U.S. media markets – New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and San Francisco – in addition to other major regions such as Austin, Charlotte, New Jersey, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, Portland and more. In all, Intersection’s network reaches over 50 million people monthly through more than 400,000 digital and static assets nationwide.
