SmartTouch Interactive Wine List

Incentient, a transaction services company specializing in bringing clients closer to their customers, last week announced the launch of SmartCellar, the newest product in their SmartTouch series of touch-screen technology applications.
It’s basically a wireless, lightweight (under 1 lb) handheld device aimed at bringing a restaurant’s entire wine cellar to life at the patron’s fingertips.
Jennifer Martucci, co-founder of Incentient told us “There are few things steeped in history as much as wine selection at meal times, the marriage of technology and history make this application the most exciting innovation to hit the restaurant circuit in years,” though we cannot help thinking it is taking technology a little too far – there is after all nothing nicer than sitting in a restaurant reading a huge tome of a wine list (at least to us).
Anyhow, SmartCellar debuts in Tony May’s new SD26 restaurant in New York City – the device has been customized to fit with the décor and needs of SD26.
