With the summer behind us and an exciting Q4 and 2025 on our near-term horizon, OAAA has an important leadership update to share today in support of our mission and continued growth.
Julie Thompson joined OAAA in 2020 as a strategic advisor, was later named as Interim CMO, and has served as EVP & CMO for the past year and a half. She is now moving into a new strategic advisory role with the organization and returning to her roots as an independent industry consultant. In conjunction with the news, Olivia Oshry, who currently serves as Vice President of Marketing, is being promoted to Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications.
Olivia assumes the role and joins the OAAA Executive Team effective October 1, 2024, and there are no plans to hire for the CMO role.
Julie’s commitment to the growth of the industry and her knowledge of the entire value chain of advertising has had an invaluable impact on OAAA and the OOH industry. Moving forward, she will concentrate on helping us expand the organization’s relationships with the most senior brand marketers and agency executives as well as working on other special projects and industry activations.
One of Julie’s other critical contributions was building out our marketing capability and attracting world-class talent to the team. Olivia, whom we are promoting today, is a case in point. As Olivia steps into the new role, she will continue to work closely with me, Julie, and the association, while also taking full responsibility for OAAA’s core marketing strategy, team, experiences, and goals.
Since joining OAAA, Olivia has applied her talent, skillset, energy, creativity, and prowess in marketing, operations, and relationship building to our goals at the organization. The result has been significant growth of OAAA’s social and digital engagement and strategies, the operationalization of our marketing processes, and the expansion of OAAA and OOH’s reach across influencers, content creators, and brand marketers.
Olivia’s diverse background spans the advertising marketing space. She started her career at AOL, managing social media and then growing into partnership marketing and industry relations roles. She also played a key role in building out AOL’s content and influencer programs on behalf of Verizon Media. After her tenure at AOL, Olivia served on the founding team and was the first marketing hire at Flowcode, where she worked with both challenger brands and Fortune 500 companies on connecting offline and online experiences through next-generation QR technology.
Olivia has a deep love and appreciation for the out of home medium. Prior to joining OAAA, Olivia worked with many of our member companies on measurable brand activations and campaigns.
On that note, I hope you will join me in thanking and congratulating Julie and Olivia for their continued service and leadership at OAAA and their new roles! It’s a great moment for OAAA and a huge testament to them both.
Sincerely,
Anna Bager
