Year In Review From @DSFederation Chair

Guest Contributor, Ryan Cahoy

On behalf of the entire Digital Signage Federation Board of Directors, I want to thank you for your support over this past year. As a by members, for members organization we work extremely hard to provide you with solid value for your membership, because we know if we do not, we are not doing our job. I want to take a few moments to look back at what we accomplished together in 2024 and give you some insight into what we have coming up in 2025.

We began 2024 with a great Mix & Mingle in February at the new National Headquarters for CCS Presentations in Phoenix, Arizona where we heard a great panel discussion on the behind the scenes planning and deployment of the digital experience at the Talking Stick Resort. We also discussed the modern workplace and took a tour of the new purposely designed technology infused into the CCS office space and esports lab.

Our Partnership Committee curated the DSF Customer Pavilion Engagement at Shop! Marketplace, giving member companies the ability to highlight their products and services to the retail communityone of the largest growing verticals in digital signage. We followed that up in May with another sold out Mix & Mingle in Tampa featuring an interesting discussion on Navigating a Connected Journey with Spectrio and Raymond James Stadium and went behind the scenes to hear about the customer experience led digital transformation across Tampa International Airport from 22 Miles, AVI-SPl and airport officials.

Then it was off to InfoComm24 in Las Vegas, where in collaboration with AVIXA, the DSF curated live education sessions, and Digital Signage Show Floor Tours featuring member companies across the ecosystem.

We continued to build on our presence at industry trade shows and conferences by once again attending the annual Commercial Integrator Expo (CIX) this past September. We held our last Mix & Mingle of the year in Philadelphia at the Museum of the American Revolution where appropriately we had a great presentation by Philly-based BlueCadet team on Revealing History: How powerful storytelling and digital engagement come together. We also had a great panel on Managed Services in Retail Merchandising from members Navori and SageNet. We ended the year at IAAPA, curating another DSF pavilion and informative education sessions for conference attendees who signed up and attended in droves. To say we had a full year is an understatement.

I bring these events up not merely to list them but to show how the Board carefully looks to maximize our presence at industry events and trade shows to provide tangible benefits to member companies to attend, exhibit and support our efforts to grow the industry and align ourselves with organizations in other verticals who can help us do so. To that end I’d like to thank the members of our Advisory Council whose financial commitment allows us to do many of the things we do as an organization for the benefit of our members.I want to thank our outgoing Board Members for their years of volunteering to help the DSF evolve into the organization it is today:

  • Kym Frank, SVP Research & Data at Fox Corporation
  • Dominic DeSieno, Digital Signage Technical Lead at Wells Fargo
  • Wayne Rasor, Director of Project Management at Fastsigns of Lancaster

In 2025 they’ll be helping us build on our successful year with Mix & Mingle events planned for Detroit, San Diego and Montreal. We’ll also be at Shop!, InfoComm, IAAPA and other events yet to be announced.

If you’re considering renewing your membership for 2025, consider not only the level at which you’re at but also your involvement in our committees and the ability to leverage participation in our trade show pavilions, as both will not only help us grow, but help the industry and your company grow. To show the breath of our membership we created and unveiled the DSF Digiscape. The Digiscape provides a one-stop shop for buyers and sellers navigating the digital signage landscape. It offers a searchable directory of all DSF member companies categorized by their role in the ecosystem, including content, hardware, software, installation services, and more – to represent and reflect all aspects of a digital-signage based connected deployment

This will be my final year as Chairman of the Board, I have had a blast heading up a board made of industry professionals who selfishly volunteer their time to help all ships rise together. I intend to be at as many events as I can to meet with you, hear how you want us to continue to grow the industry and to thank you for being the DSF. Without you, we wouldn’t be.

Thanks again and have an amazing 2025!

Ryan Cahoy, Director, AUO Display Plus and Chairman – Digital Signage Federation.
