London Breakfast Briefing
Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief
The Screen’s Breakfast Briefings in London are ALWAYS good and if you are in or around London at the time, well worth attending.
The next event is only a week or so away on Tuesday 8th December entitled ‘2009 – The Digital Perspective‘ and has a good line up of speakers; –
- Carolyn Nugent, UK Head of Digital at WPP’s specialist outdoor media agency Kinetic.
- Michael Nutley, Editor-In-Chief of New Media Age
- Denis Gaumondie, Editor of OOH.TV
- Bob Michaels, CEO of Magenta Research
Carolyn Nugent is new to her role and still getting her feet under the table but it will be interesting to hear Kinetic’s view of this past year (it won’t be all doom and gloom we hope).
Michael Nutley has been a business journalist for 24 years and editor of new media age since July 2000 (promoted to editor-in-chief in 2007). Whilst his focus is on new media in general it will be fascinating to hear what he has to say about our industry.
Denis Gaumondie runs a competitive site to us (really). Young French guy living and working in Berlin. We have a lot of time for what he is doing.
Unlike Minicom, Magenta Research seem to have a number of sensible things to say to the industry AND seem more than willing to put their hand in their pocket and exhibit at the shows properly.
We had breakfast with Bob in NYC a couple of weeks back and learnt a lot about some of the problems potentially facing the AV side of our industry. We also sat next to (just) some of their technical team and developers who were staying at the same hotel for KioskComm and there was hardly enough room at a table for all of them.
Compare that to Minicom’s headcount – we have only ever met one guy (and seen email from one other in the US) and he’s in Switzerland, albeit simply to distance himself from their factory.
We think that Bob especially will have a lot of good stuff to say and if you are in London it’s well worth popping along to listen to ALL of the speakers.
