IBN Signs Contract With Safeway
InStore Broadcasting Network (IBN) announced today that Safeway, Inc. (NYSE: SWY) has signed a multi-year contract providing in-store radio in more than 1,700 Safeway grocery stores throughout the US and Canada.
Safeway, Inc., headquartered in Pleasanton, California, is one of the world’s largest food retailers, based on sales. The company reported FY09 revenue of over US$40 Billion and was ranked 52nd on the latest Fortune 500.

IBN supplies Safeway and other retail outlets with in-store audio broadcast services promoting new products, services, cooking tips and special promotions. The companies have a long-standing successful relationship, having signed their first contract in 1999.
Safeway’s in-store radio advertising inventory is valued at more than USD 6 million annually. IBN in-store radio is one of the fastest growing segments in the field of shopper marketing.
