Christie MicroTiles, have been installed in the lobby of the Communitech Hub, in Waterloo, Canada. The recently opened digital media innovation center, The Hub (previously reported by Gail Chaison here) fosters collaboration and creativity among established companies and start-ups.
Christie is a founding partner and visionary for The Hub, providing advanced visualization tools and integration expertise to help companies explore new concepts and advance their initiatives. As well as the MicroTiles, there is a four-sided, 3D ‘immersive environment,’ designed and integrated by Christie, which will be known as the Hub Interactive Visualization Environment or HIVE.
The HIVE, powered by 12 Christie high definition Mirage 3D stereoscopic projectors, enables the display of vast amounts of data in a totally immersive setting – providing advanced research capabilities. Christie’s Mirage 3D stereoscopic projectors and Christie Spyder X20 video processors are also installed in the Theatre/Event Space and Executive Briefing Room, allowing wider content sharing and collaboration across disciplines.

Christie also owns Vista Systems. The Vista Spyder X20 is a great visualization tool. My church has a Spyder that we use for services and special occasions; it really helps liven up the services. I was surprised at how easy it is to use considering our multimedia team are all volunteers.
