The ‘Samsung Reorganisation Results In 8 Layoffs‘ story that we wrote back on October 11th seems to have affected many more than eight people.

One of those affected kindly wrote in to (a) take us to task for not being accurate first time around (b) reminding us we should check our facts with the Marcom department and (c) give us more detail. Valid points.

We get no joy in writing about layoffs and re-organisations but here are a few facts to clarify the original post…

• There were 24 people terminated from Samsung Electronics on that “black Friday”
• The impact was felt across a variety of channels and product groups
• The most severe casualties were felt by the BTA independent and Pro AV support teams
• Product category support positions eliminated included printers/mfps/displays and LFD products
