Olympic Heroes Parade

Clear Channel has made a nice tactical move to offer advertisers various outdoor sites during the London Olympic Heroes Parade being held on 16th October.
More than 100,000 people are expected to celebrate the success of the Great Britain Olympic team at this parade which is being coordinated by the Mayor of London, the British Olympic Association (BOA) and the British Paralympic Association.
Clear Channel Outdoor tell us that their Campaign Planning team has devised a way for Olympic, London 2012 and BOA sponsors to maximise their brand exposure from 6th to the 20th October.
Richard Bon, Head of Support and Planning at Clear Channel Outdoor, tells us “This parade reflects the pride and excitement in this country about the Olympics – both in 2008 and 2012. We have developed this bespoke outdoor advertising campaign, as part of our pioneering Audience Solutions approach, to enable advertisers to become part of the celebration.”
The parade through the streets of London will begin at The Guildhall and finish at Trafalgar Square Clear Channel has identified a number of targeted opportunities from its multi-format portfolio including roadside 6-sheets, 96-sheets, banners and the most high profile digital site in outdoor – Piccadilly Lite.
All the outdoor advertising opportunities have been plotted in proximity to the route which includes 6-sheet locations at Strand, Mansion House and Queen Victoria Street. In addition, sites such as the London Bridge Banner and 96-sheets at Westminster Bridge, Blackfriars and Stanford Street provide stand-out coverage. Advertisers seeking to increase coverage in and around the parade could also take advantage of Clear Channel’s London Commuter and London Central 6-sheet packages.
