Dot Com / Web 2.0 Executives flock to Digital Out of Home
Adrian J Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief
Well, okay not exactly ‘flock’ but it is interesting that in the space of three or four weeks we have seen two, incredibly well known dot com entrepreuners take up senior positions with Digital Out of Home vendors.
I know Ajay Chowdhury from of old when he was CEO of LineOne and I was CTO at the ISP World Online (Rotterdam/Amsterdam/London) – whoa those heady dot com days!
Ajay recently joined EnQii as their Chief Executive Officer.
Ajay was previously a General Partner at Acacia Capital Partners, a European high technology venture capital fund based in London. Acacia was spun out from IDG Ventures Europe in 2005, a fund that Ajay co-founded in 2000.
Prior to joining IDGV, Ajay was European President and CEO of NBC Internet – a NASDAQ quoted integrated media company- before which he was Chief Executive of LineOne – a joint venture between United News and Media and British Telecom – which he grew into one of the UK’s largest portals and Internet Service Providers.
He joined United News and Media in 1991 and was founder and Managing Director of United Interactive – its new media division. Before joining United, he was a manager at Bain & Company, the global strategy consulting firm.

As President of DoubleClick’s global media businesses, Salzman spearheaded the US-based company’s expansion into 24 countries. During his tenure, he helped lead DoubleClick from start-up to a global leader with revenues in excess of $500 million and over 3,000 employees worldwide.
YCD annnounced a week ago that they would relocate their head office from Israel to New York and Barry will be based at YCD’s new New York office.
Both companies have previously announced their global ambition and both have set the bar very high with these appointments.
