Andy Querin Leaving Zoom Media
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
Andy Querin, president and CEO of Zoom Media in Canada, is leaving after almost nine years with the company.
Querin was based in Toronto but traveled regularly between Zoom’s Montreal head office and Toronto. Prior to being named president four years ago, he held the position of vice-president sales and marketing. He earlier worked the broadcast sector for the CBC.
Querin is apparently simply ready for a change and new challenge after having helped build Zoom. During his time with the company, he helped raise $30 million in private equity as well as having played a key role in several acquisition deals.
We understand that François de Gaspé Beaubien, chairman, will be more hands-on in Canadian operations until another president is hired in 2011.
