Word from the continent is that French systems integration giant Alcatel-Lucent has selected Navori’s software to bundle into an ‘Enterprise Multimedia Suite’ that Alcatel is using to develop and expand business in large-scale digital signage projects, particularly in North America.
Alcatel-Lucent is one of the largest systems integrators in the world, so this would appear to be a very nice arrangement for Navori CEO Jerome Moeri and his team in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Paris-based Alcatel describes its Enterprise Multimedia Suite (or EMS) as a versatile and cost-effective digital media solution that is ideal for projects that need to move a lot of digital media around – such as digital signage, corporate TV, hospitality TV, corporate video portals and tele-assistance.
“Navori needed a vendor that knows how to design a complex multimedia solution. We are working with Alcatel-Lucent, as they have a broad range of expertise and experience and have developed proven methodologies to deliver world-class multimedia services,” Moeri tells us.
North American operations and support for these projects will be managed from Navori’s offices in Montreal, Canada.
“Our 14 years of experience and development in pace with our continuous growth has materialized into a software platform that is extremely stable and reliable, yet very scalable,” says Moeri. “Over the last couple of years, we saw our typical sales evolve from small installations on average to mid-size and large projects. With this experience, and our product platform, we have an offer which now makes Navori a great choice for such ventures.”
The Alcatel-Lucent Multimedia Integration business provides middleware and solutions that support more than seven million IPTV subscribers, which is almost 20 percent of the global IPTV subscriber base. Leveraging that IPTV expertise and experience, Alcatel-Lucent launched the EMS solution last year.
Navori are at #iseurope this week (stand #12E82) and we’ll be interested to hear more about this new relationship with Alcatel, as well as have a look at the new QL software platform that Navori will be showing for the first time. It has been trumpeted as bringing broadcast quality frame-by-frame accurate video playback to even lower-end devices, so the proof of that will presumably be on show.
