JiWire Encourages Donations For Japan
Gail Chiasson, North American Editor
There’s been an outpouring of support for the relief efforts following the disaster in Japan and the power of using mobile to support the cause is showing to be very successful.
San Francisco-based JiWire is the latest company we’ve learned of that’s doing its part. The company is actively playing a role in helping people on-the-go to donate to help the victims of Japan’s disasters
By connecting with people while they are out of the home and office and adding the element of location, it becomes even easier for people to contribute by helping them find nearby Red Cross centers to donate goods or even blood when it’s needed.
JiWire has offered its location-based ad network of Wi-Fi hotspots and mobile apps to support relief efforts by running a campaign to show its support for the Red Cross. These ads provide the on-the-go audience with nearby Red Cross centers, based on their location, as well as the option to donate by texting.
