I Wish I Hadn’t Said That

Despite BroadSign’s insistence on their ‘distance’ to the Petters Group, it’s surely no coincidence that the recent round of layoffs came just a week or so after Petters Group ran into trouble.
Several of those folks who were let go in Montreal recently told us that the reason they were given for the layoffs was that “Petters funding has dried up”
Either way, whether that is true or not, I bet Rick Engels is really wishing that he hadn’t said…
“Partnering with Petters Group has allowed BroadSign to utilize unique partnership opportunities with several of the portfolio companies. These companies offer BroadSign products and services that support our development and goals.”
The more YOU guys dig through the giant Google cache engines and send us links and pages that have mysteriously been removed and deleted from various online sites the more we continue to be amazed at the gall of BroadSign in denying having any recent / strong links with Petters Group.

Surely BroadSign is going to need some new investment if it is to continue as a going concern?
Even if it doesn’t, it’s obviously going to have to slim down some more – does it for example, still need a head office in the US in the Petters building in Minnetonka when all of the really clever folks who work for them are based in Canada?

It seems to me that you are on some sort of vendetta against BroadSign. The question is why? What is your problem? If you have to spend your time digging through Google cache engines to dig up dirt on companies, it says a lot about the type of person you are. Can’t you find something more constructive to do with your life? Shame on you!
We’re not just talking about companies here, we’re talking about people’s lives, their jobs, and their families. All trashed by you when you attack the foundation of a business. What is happening at BroadSign is unfortunate. But the fault should not be laid at BroadSign’s management. Anyone can be mislead by an investor. Obviously you have nothing better to do with yourself.

Once again, the tried and tested technique of shooting the messenger.
The fact that Broadsign is co-owned by one guy currently sitting in jail and one guy who did multiple years in jail should be of concern to it’s employees and customers not the facts as reported by some wannabee journalists

No doubt that Broadsign’s employees, customers and other investors have been duped by some shady characters. Such nefarious behavior is deplorable, but the bad guys usually get what is coming to them. Unfortunately, based upon this mess, Broadsign will have a high degree of difficulty raising money. Add to that the state of the capital and financial markets, and Broadsign will probably not make it.
