AIDS Walk New York – one of the largest annual fundraising events in New York City – is promoting the 26th annual fundraising walk on EYE’s digital display units at Queens Center Mall leading up to the event on Sunday, May 15.
The 10K walk, that begins and ends in Central Park, will raise funds for GMHC (Gay Men’s Health Crisis) and dozens of AIDS service organizations in the tristate area. In 2010, 45,000 walkers and 2,500 volunteers helped raised over $5.7 million for HIV/AIDS prevention, treatment and advocacy programs.
In 2010, EYE also supported AIDS Walk Los Angeles with a donation of Eyelites to promote the event on the west coast.
“We are thrilled to partner with EYE again,” says Shona Borevitz, event director of AIDS Walk New York. “Donating its digital displays in local shopping centers to help raise awareness and much needed funds for the fight against HIV/AIDS is as an outstanding example of EYE’s community leadership, corporate responsibility and human kindness.”
The digital ad, which began running May 9, promotes awareness for the ‘I Walk…’ campaign and encourages the community to participate in the event and help raise funds for the epidemic.
“EYE is proud to help promote awareness for such an important cause,” says Michelle Schiano, vice-president marketing of EYE USA, “AIDS Walk is one of the many organizations EYE continues to support as part of Eye Have a Heart global initiative to helping the community.”
